TREATING LIP CONTOURS WITH HYALURONIC ACID (RUSSIAN LIPS PROCEDURE)
Back to treatmentsLIP CONTOURING WITH HYALURONIC ACID
Beautifully contoured and heart-shaped lips WITHOUT the typical "duck-lip" appearance, but rather entirely natural and sensual. Introducing the "Russian Lips" treatment, which has emerged as an absolute beauty trend in recent years. This procedure involves using a specialized injection technique to administer hyaluronic acid, creating an optically soft and curved lip contour with subtle volume – all while avoiding an inflated appearance. This contributes to achieving an incredibly natural-looking outcome. This technique is perfect for both younger and older clients seeking a refreshed appearance and an elegant look. It is important to have the injection performed by a doctor who is thoroughly trained in this specific kind of treatment.
HOW IS LIP CONTOURING PERFORMED?
To contour the lips, several small injections are made along the lip contour. Hyaluronic acid is carefully integrated using a specialized technique, injecting it in various directions. This technique helps lift the lip contour and create subtle volume.
HOW LONG DOES THE HYALURONIC EFFECT LAST?
The effect of the "Russian Lips" treatment typically lasts as long as a standard lip augmentation, which averages around 6-12 months with our products. However, this is a general estimate and can vary from person to person. Subsequent treatments can help prolong the duration of the effect.
HOW PAINFUL IS LIP CONTOURING WITH HYALURONIC ACID?
The treatment is almost painless, thanks to an anaesthetic technique developed in-house. Alternatively, a potent anaesthetic cream can be applied instead.
RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS
The "Russian Lips technique" for lip contouring has minimal side effects. The primary concern is swelling, which may persist for up to a week in some cases. If significant swelling occurs immediately after treatment, applying an ice pack on-site can help manage it. Bruising is slightly more common with this technique, but optimal preparation (i.e., avoiding blood-thinning medications) can help reduce the risk. The hyaluronic acid gel is injected relatively superficially, which can occasionally result in small, soft nodules in both the inner (invisible) and outer (visible) lip areas. Typically, these can be massaged away or treated with alternative methods. Complications such as product migration of the hyaluronic acid or asymmetries are extremely rare.
FOLLOW-UP AND POST-TREATMENT CARE
We recommend a follow-up appointment two weeks after the initial treatment. If a follow-up treatment is necessary, there will be no additional costs.
SOCIAL RECOVERY
Since swelling after the treatment is generally moderate, you should be socially presentable and able to return to work the next day. If you experience significant swelling, it's advisable to avoid sports, saunas, spa visits, and massages during this time. Minor bruises can usually be concealed with makeup. For more pronounced bruises, the application of a heparin cream is recommended to facilitate faster absorption.
PREPARATION
For hygiene reasons, please refrain from wearing makeup, creams, or powder prior to the treatment. Additionally, inform us if you have taken any blood-thinning medications or similar substances in the last 10 days.
